Democrats and Government Shut Downs – A Tale of Hypocrisy

Can it possibly be? Only 57 Democrats initially voted for the bill to keep the government from a catastrophic (well it always is, when the opposing side does it) shutdown? That Elizabeth Warren, the champion of the lunatic left wing fringe, would oppose keeping the government running given her own words on that very subject last year? That Nancy Pelosi would herd her group in the House and marshal her forces together in the House to try and defeat a bill to keep the government funded and avoid a shutdown (you know, for all the Seniors and Head Start, and all those typical bleeding, tug-at-your-heart strings causes they typically use) right here at Christmas time?

No way! But the Democrats certainly tried…which is just so rich. Remember when the media and the White House and some Dems were saying just last week that they hoped the GOP wouldn’t shut down the government. The Democrats who were on the brink of shutting down the government, not the Republicans!

Now let’s remember, shall we, of the terms some of those same Democrats used to describe those people the last time there was a threatened and actual shutdown:

Harry Reid: “We’re not going to bow to tea party anarchists”.

Nancy Pelosi: Republicans Are “Legislative Arsonists” Trying To Burn Down The Government

White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer attacked House Republicans and compared them to “arsonists, hostage-takers and suicide bombers” over the last threatened shutdown.

Obama himself said: Republicans  were “holding a gun to the head”  of the country .

Another democrat claimed that the Republicans were committing “jihad” against America…

Another democrat claimed the Republicans were “hostage takers and “political terrorists”….

And let’s remind you what good ole Squaw Warren said:

“In a democracy, hostage tactics are the last resort for those who can’t otherwise win their fights through elections, can’t win their fights in Congress, can’t win their fights for the Presidency, and can’t win their fights in Courts,” Warren said. “For this right-wing minority, hostage-taking is all they have left – a last gasp of those who cannot cope with the realities of our democracy.”

“You can’t go down that path, you can’t empower people by saying, ‘Here you are in the minority, and you’re going to shut down the whole government because something you don’t like”.

“…those who have salivated at the chance to shut down our government because their extremist views have left them disconnected from the experiences of the American people”  describing supporters of the shutdown as those who “seem to rejoice in anarchy” as “reckless and extremist factions.”

So, who’s the “hostage takers” now? The “arsonists”? The “political terrorists”? The “suicide bombers with a bomb strapped to their chest”?

Ironic, isn’t it? They have become the very ones they deemed other people to be! The Democrat party…The gift that keeps on giving – I guess they forget that words matter.
